I've always liked swiss army knives since childhood, when I received my first one. I've had several since then, but none as functional as the swisschamp. My first impression of the knife was "wow". There are so many implements, you would be hard pressed to find a situation in which this knife would not be of use. Some of the implements do seem a little unnecessary for my personal needs, but I like to think they may come in useful one day. The knife is well built, but then again that's kind of expected from victorinox. As for the durability, well, let's just say I wouldn't put too much stress on it. The large knife blade was razor sharp out of the packaging, and makes quick work of just about any cutting job. The pliers are also very useful, I use them for tightening and loosening coaxle cable ends. The magnifying glass seems a bit fragile and weak, the plastic just feels too thin as if it would snap if pressure was applied to it. I've had two victorinox explorer knives, and the magnifying glasses were a little more sturdy. The addition of the micro screw driver that fits inside the cork screw is a fantastic implement, in my opinion. It comes in really handy for me, because I do a lot of electronic work that requires a micro screwdriver. And another very useful implement (as much as it may not seem) is the small knife blade. It is great for opening packages and letters, and really any delicate cutting job. All in all, it is a fantastic knife, and I would suggest it for anyone. Even if you don't use knives that often, this would be a great accessory to your pocket or purse. It is a great tool anyone could use, and a great tool to have around just because it has so many uses.
I hope this review was helpful to you, and I am sorry for it being so long. But when it comes to this knife, a few lines just doesn't sum it up. I would definitely recommend getting one.

When I was young I always thought of the Swiss Army Knives as a joke, rather than a practical item . Not so with this one . I actually find a lot of uses for this in small jobs I do around my home and farm . It took me a while to get use to the idea I had a practical tool available when I was doing a job and didn't have to run to a tool box . You can get a very sturdy Wenger/Victorinox Pouch with steel for it and it is always handy . It is well built, has enough tools to be handy, yet still small enough to be practical . Surprising how many uses I find for it . I shopped and this was the best price I could find too . I almost didn't buy from this seller due to a number of negative reviews . I buy many things over the net so do pay attention to those . But it was shipped fast, tracking sent, free shipping, perfect condition in the package when it arrived so I am very happy . I actually have two of these and an XLT . I no longer consider these a Boy Scout joke . (No offense to the Scouts, but many times things taught weren't practical. Did you really start a fire with two sticks . Ha I can now easily , but most Scouts or Scout Masters couldn't then . ) Anyway, yes it's worth it .
