This was a gift for my friends 6-year old son. He loves it, and uses it as his pillow each night. I had not heard of these before, but my friend said this is one thing her son wanted for his birthday. So I can't say whether it is the real deal, but in the end does it really matter? It's not about a name brand, all that matters is that the product is well made and is enjoyed by the recipient, right? The fabric is super soft, the hook and loop closure works great, and it's just an overall great product. I would definitely buy this product again.

We purchased this dog for our son's 4th birthday -- along with many other, more expensive gifts. However, we could have (and probably should have!) stopped with just the dog. He loves this dog! The dog is very well made and is super soft and snuggly. The velcro that attaches under his tummy and that, when attached, forms his "legs", really holds and even after being attached and unattached many times, still works perfectly.
I seriously thought this would be just one more stuffed animal that would end up in the big pile of other stuffed animals. I was wrong! He is loved, hugged, carried around and cuddled with in bed -- even after 3 months! So, I highly recommend this dog for any child who wants a snuggle buddy. A perfect Christmas or birthday gift!! :-)

Note that this seller is not selling real pillow pets, its a knock off even though it says it in the name...quality is not as good, the fluffing is already going flat and i paid way too much for it (especially considering the poor quality). I'll go to the pillow pets website direct...

I agree with the other reviewers that the seller is making us believe these are the real pillow pets and they are not. I do have a real Ladybug pillow pet so I could see some obvious differences such as the labeling, fabric that covers the velcro and also the real ones are very fluffy. However, I have to say that I like that these fake pillow pets make for a flatter pillow because the real one are so fluffy and thick that the my child would get a neck cramp from sleeping on such a high pillow. My child prefers to sleep on this fake one because it's flatter. It fluffs up nice when washed and put into the dryer. It holds up well and is very durable even after many washing. I also like the fabric that covers the velcro on this fake pillow pet because it's large and easier to use than the fabric on the real pillow pets. My child do not play with either her dog or ladybug pillow pets. She prefers them open and used as a pillow or a cushion to sit down on to read books.
