Moria... You fear to go into those mines. Nov 28, 2011
By Ben Sumner Every time you look at it, you'll swear you'll see a detail you hadn't seen before. You can just picture the Fellowship running through the mines, slaying orcs and being chased by the Balrog. You can see Gandalf yelling "You Shall Not Pass!" before engaging the evil demon on an epic battle while falling into the chasm.
This isn't just a random assortment of caves and chasms, either - it mirrors the path that they took in the movie. And to think it's still got the necessary viewing angles from the outside to see inside this mine.
If you buy this, you'll also want to purchase a magnifying glass for better views. I even spent a lot of time taking pictures of different angles, as if I were taking photos of an actual cave.
Five stars.
This isn't a toy Sep 14, 2009

Not a toy...the Mines of Moria were the ancient home of Tolkien's Dwarves in Lord of the Rings and this item is a wonderful replica of that ruin. Wonderful detail in this heavy, polystone sculpture. Shouldn't have been classified as a toy. Anyway, these are rare to find and this one is one in a series of environments from the movie trilogy. It is the largest one, I believe.
