The Moore nadir Jul 27, 2010 This is the first and worst of Roger Moore's James Bond outings (yes, it's even worse than "A View To A Kill"). Dull, clumsily plotted, featuring a not-terribly-interesting villain (despite the fact that Yaphet Kotto is usually terrific), campy but in an overly serious way (the voodoo stuff is ridiculous), featuring a brief out-of-left-field appearance by a cliched hillbilly sheriff (who probably provided the inspiration for Jackie Gleason's performance in "Smokey and the Bandit"), this Bond film should be avoided at all costs. Even the speedboat chase is boring.
Yaphet Kotto OWNS Jane Seymour Jul 06, 2010 This is the B-LACK one in the James Bond cannon. There's everything described by the other reviewers but beautiful Jane Seymour was burned in my brain at the time and I have to have it. Her character's story is so crazy and she's psychic with a deck of cards. Yaphet Kotto sounds so insane when he talks about her that I laugh whenever I think about it. It's not exactly gay Clifton Webb in Laura or body dismorphic disordered Mel Ferrer in Lili but it's right up there.
Live and Let Die 007 Jul 04, 2010 I am in the process of obtaining all James Bond (007) movies. I would put very few 007 movies in the average category - and definately none of the older ones including this one. It is too bad that older actors that played James Bond are not able to do more movies.
Miss Caruso And The Magnetic Watch Jun 30, 2010 I've always liked Live And Let Die because of the opening romantic interest of babyish beauty Madeline Smith as Italian agent Miss Caruso, who is featured in two portrait scenes and with James Bond's magnetic watch sensually bringing down the zipper on the back of her tight light-blue dress. I appreciated director Guy Hamilton describing in a commentary segment that the illusion was created by attaching a fishing line to the zipper and stating that the fluid scene was difficult to film. Disc 2 also features the unzipping scene under the expression of "Sheer Magnetism."
movie Jun 12, 2010 this is one of my favorit movies. When I found it on Amazon I had to get it. I ordered it over the weekend and before I knew it was in my hands. The company was great. It was simple and easy. :)
