5Imagine lp vinyl lp reissue  Nov 28, 2008 By ralph p ramon "ralph p ramon"
Great vinyl lp reissue of Lennon's "Imagine" Lp. Great analogue sound, nice havy vinyl and laminated cover. Worh the money for those with decent turntables.

5IMAGINE by John Lennon  Jan 27, 2010 By Norbie "stay beautiful"
Item Info: 180g Vinyl, Limited Edition.
My propaganda spiel,

My 20c on the Vinyl vs CD Debate: They are two different formats that have advanteges and disadvantages over each other. I am not a fanatic that believes the only way to appreciate music is to only listen to vinyl. I read a great post - If we wanted to really appreciate early Louis Armstrong recordings does that mean that to appreaciate them is to listen to old 78s? The reason why a lot of people use the word "warmth" when they refer to the sound the vinyl gives off is that CD is clearer than vinyl, and doesn't hide all the neuances of the recording like vinyl. Anyway, lets get to the review.

This is one of the first vinyl albums i got when i recently decided to start collecting them. This album is one of reason why i decided to start a vinyl collection. I have become annoyed and disappointed that one you have a sticker on a cd saying that it comes with a poster, all you end up with is something the size of a postcard. This idem does include a postcard, one of john Lennon with a pig. There is also a poster, not the size of some pissweak cd digipak size but a huge poster around 100cm x 100cm. It's big and trying to find a frame for is has become a hassle, and expensive. But i don't mind.

There is one thing that might disappoint purists. This is a new remix. The album however sounds more modern, better bass, separation of instruments are much easier on the ears if you decide to copy it to your mp3 players, and sounds that sounded muffled are more crisper and clearer.

So please enjoy, vinyl may cost a little more sometimes but you do get more out of the. If you feel that the cost is to much, amazon has great prices for their vinyl, and if you live outside the US, like me, the postage is a lot less if you go to other online dealers. Sometimes up to $20 and Amazon package their vinyl as good as other online places.

Let me tell you my experience from other dealers. From then i ordered a Nirvana's Nevermind (in blue vinyl), and Devo's Q: Are we men.... in yellow vinyl. For postage they wanted $30 (i'm from Australia). When they arrived BOTH lps covers were damaged. I don't want to get into any conspiracy, but i think they selected those two damaged covers to sent overseas because sending them back or refunds can be a hassle. Now, these weren't that badly damaged it was a little scratch, anyways..... i was a bit annoyed.

Well, that's all i got to say about that.

Amazon's packaging of vinyl is just as good as other online dealers, prices are usually cheaper (This album was going for $13 when i got it, so please check out their specials), and postage is a hell lot cheaper that others.

Oh, by the way.....IMAGINE is a great vinyl album so go and get it!!!

Norbert.

5A must to Own!  Jun 28, 2010 By Lolly Hellman "Avid Bookreader"
I do not think you could be a John Lennon fan and not own this album. Again, this is to replace an album I've overplayed in the past, but this album is the true John Lennon to me, the one I will always remember. The photo cover is unique and says it all. The song "Imagine" is what I hope we all pray for. I do. Buy a turntable, play the vinyl, not the CD, close your eyes and escape. It's a beautiful feeling.

5Birthday Gift  May 04, 2013 By Karen Berry
